Mary Wroth

Mary Wroth writes about love in a way that is very spiritual. She often wrote about Gods or powerful beings controlling people's destinies. She would compare a couple's love to fate. Mentions beings like Cupid or angels bringing people together. What was refreshing from her work was the fact that the protaganist was a girl pursuing love instead of a man loving a woman he can not have. Her work is the typical kind of poetry I think of because it is very much just "lovey-dovey", cheesy, or sappy romance.
